Our Core Values
In 2024—during our centennial year—we adopted core values to reflect the organization we want to be as we embark on the next 100 years. Our core values are the North Star of our organization and how we invest in our members and our community.
Collaboration
We believe lasting community impact is achieved through increasing our scope of internal and external collaboration by consistently seeking new partnerships. Shared goals, mutual support, and meaningful disagreement lead to greater success. Living the value of collaboration allows for an equitable exchange of ideas, and inspires and enables us to accomplish more together.
Inclusivity
We believe creating and sustaining an inclusive membership is central to our Mission, and includes growing our membership to intentionally include underrepresented communities. Our members are not all the same, and that’s our greatest strength. Living the value of inclusivity means we understand our culture is the result of our behaviors and has a direct impact on our ability to trust one another, be vulnerable, share our perspectives, and foster true connections.
Integrity
We believe that consistently acting with integrity is essential to building honest, respectful relationships, both among our members and with the community. Living the value of integrity means treating everyone equally and justly, standing up for what is right in the face of challenges, being accountable for our commitments, and operating with the highest ethical standards in all we do, both in and outside the organization.
Leadership Development
We believe in the power of women’s leadership abilities to positively transform communities. We know leading isn’t always easy, development takes time, and women in the Lexington community are at different stages of their leadership journey. Ongoing training and development that meets women where they are is our priority and our Mission because living the value of true leadership allows us to make a collective difference.
Service
We believe in the transformative impact of service to the community and to each other. No lasting change can occur within our organization or community without trusting relationships built on humility, empathy, and dedication to helping others. Living the value of service empowers us as catalysts for lasting community impact.
